Clinical Psychologist
Is there a disconnect between who you are and who you know you could be? Are you struggling with feelings of anxiety, sadness, fear, or heartbreak? Are you dissatisfied with the person who stares back at you in the mirror? Are you having difficulty launching your career or creating meaningful relationships? Are you a performer looking to reach new heights in your craft, whether that is in sport, art, or business? Is it hard for you to relax or play? If any of these resonate with you, I can help.

We cannot break free from the chains of our past experiences without taking the time to examine, observe, and face them. A child awakening from a nightmare needs the presence of another (an Other) to bring themselves out of that scary, distorted world. In this way, real healing requires a meeting of minds. This is where I come in.

Therapy can help you reach a higher level of self-awareness, which can allow you to feel better, make freer choices, improve your relationships, and achieve more success in life. I am here to help guide you on this meaningful road of self-discovery, a road that is unique to you and created as we walk it together.

I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University. Prior to entering private practice, I trained in a community mental health clinic, middle school, university counseling center, hospital, and psychoanalytic training institute before completing my capstone internship at Nassau University Medical Center. In addition to my training in Clinical Psychology, I have a master's degree in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Additionally, I received specialized training in Sport & Performance Psychology during my postdoctoral fellowship.
The Key to Successful Therapy
For individual therapy to be effective, it has to be tailored specifically to you. The relationship formed between a therapist and a patient is the key to successful therapy, as it functions as the vehicle of change. Why? Relationships give life meaning. One of the greatest experiences a person can have is to feel like they can be themselves entirely, in the presence of another, without feeling judged or criticized (which is much rarer than it seems). Everyone wants to be seen, however scary that may be. A genuine, trusting relationship between you and me will allow you to be seen in a way that feels safe and frees you up to explore your own mind, like a child in a playground looking back at their parents before going back to their own world of play and discovery.

You may be seeking therapy because you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, angry, lonely, or sad. You may be seeking therapy because you want to improve your relationships, enrich your love life, or optimize your performance in your sport, career, or craft. Together, we can work on achieving your specific goals. This entails looking into the whole of who you are— your thoughts, feelings, identity, and the ways in which you relate to the people in your life.
